hey guys, quick question. I just got my first airbrush, a Paasche VL. Wondering what size needle do most of you use for water based paint. I bought some Jonas paints that I want to try on some head mounts. Do you think I should use the size 1, 3 or 5 tips and needles? I think it came installed with a 3 and it seemed to work, but I don't know crap about airbrushes. I was thinking about getting some Hydromist paints, what size for those?
Another dumb question, do you have to use the same size needle, and tip combo? THANKS!

I use the #1 needle for everything except larger fish, then I move up to #3. For gameheads, either #1 or #3 would work well.
And yes you must always match the needle and tip assembly.
I'm just the opposite of Jon - I use the number 3 tip for everything. In fact, it's the only tip I own...
