moving and cleaning caribou mount

We recently purchased a camp that has a caribou head mounted above the fireplace. He needs to be moved so we can do some wall repair and painting. How much do they weigh? What is the best way to move him? He's also very dusty. Can I dust, brush, vacuum or otherwise clean him while I've got him down?

Thanks

They are not heavy, they have a foam body. Most of the weight will be in the head, and they will be front heavy. Put one hand under the brisket chest area, the other under his neck or on the antler. Don't grab him by the ears whatever you do. Yes you can vacuum it, or blow it off with an air compressor then use a damp rag or a brush to lay the hair back down.
