I was looking for some ideas on habitat for a shoulder mounted white tail buck.Im having brain farts trying to come up with something that will look nice on the wall but also add a new element to a typical head mount.(my own personal buck i just shot)

I've done several that had a small "shelf" out of foam the allowed the brisket to go down into. The back of the shelf has a small piece of plywood on the back with a metal strap going from the shelf to the deer mannikin. When done, the deer head is hung on the wall and the shelf is attached to the deer. It can easily be taken off if you get tired of it.
Make the shelf with rounded edges, cover it with a mixture of dirt and 50/50 Elmer's glue and water, and put various habitat materials on it (i.e. mesquite, cactus, etc). It's easy to do and looks good.

I did a mount for my brother and used a piece of cedar driftwood and attached it to the brisket area of the deer. Then I put moss inside the crevices and knotholes etc... to give it some depth. Looked nice. Just some ideas but use your imagination.
