I have been searching the archives and have some conflicting/confusing info on shaving the hide. Is it neccesary to shave the hide thinner on a Bou after tanning? I here they are thin skinned. I need to start working on my personal mount and wonder if it needs to be shaved or if I can tan it in house and mount.

i have done my own caribou capes and they are no different than a deer cape.you should be able to do it in house
