I'm trying to mount a set of antlers that has some of the skullcap still attached. It also still has the decomposing eyeballs intact. I'm wondering how to eliminate the flesh and other matter safely, and also, is it o.k. to sand down the jagged bone so it will be flush with the mounting board? Thanks for the help!

Christian , you have to remove the scalp and then boil the meat off the skull cap . You also have to remove the meat on the inside of the scalp and then resew the scalp back on . As for getting a straight edge , use a hack saw if you dont have a butcher saw .It would be faster than sanding . Also if you sand bone , it smells like a dentist's office . Rick
