Bondo or 5 minute epoxy works well
It's NOT an adhesive and if you doubt me, go to the archives and look what happened when I Bondoed a B&C set of horn casings on a customer's speed goat. Use Epoxy.
I always use a mixture of number 1 modeling plaster and elmers glue. mix the two together into a frosting-like mixture, put a liberal amount into the horn and pick up the skull upside down and shove into the horn. work out the air bubbles slowly. you will probably have an overflow until you catch on to this process, but it cleans up easily. let dry upside down (this won't take long, don't waste any time) when dry the white mixture blends with the skull. as the mixture dries rapidly, you can use a modeling tool to clean up the edges and smooth them up. I have never had any pop loose using this method. if you get any on the horn, it cleans up easily when dry by using a wire brush, especially if you first brush mineral oil on the horn, let soak in for a day, and then rub the horn dry . if you spray a sealer on the skull first before the recapping, any cleanup will be easier.good luck
most appreciative! my son will be a happy camper this christmas.
I'll use epoxy from now on
