i've got a differnt request from a customer, he is wanting me to put together i coyote face that he can wear kind of as a mask sort of thing like at haloween and stuff. He wants me to install glass eyes in it, but he wants them painted red. I thought i could get a regular pair of eyes and soak the back with laquar thinner and take the paint off and then paint the inside red and be done. BUt that didnt work the paint did not come off.....i dont want to put the red on the outside very bad becasue of it scratching off....any ideas? how do you get the paint off to make is just a clear glass eye?
thanks

Van Dykes and Tohickon have specialty eyes.
The pigment on most quality glass eyes is fired on, and only Hydroflouric acid or a speacialty grinding burr or pad will remove it. Either buy speacilty eyes like george said, or get flints and paint your own.
and it didn't work either.
Buy the flints, they're cheaper, they're easier to do, and it sounds like it would probalby be right in line with what he is wanting.

Then you can just paint them the color of your choice . Bradlee
