I would like your apenions on something. A mount came in that is only four years old, cracked bad on the back, and was done very poor!
would you guy's just repair the old cap, that's on the mount, or start from scratch?
The head was done by a retired taxidermyst. The cap seems in good shape, but the ears don't look right, and the mouth even has cracked away.
The crack on the back is open about a inch. (very noticiple)
Would it be best ot just use the antlers and start over. The guy is old, and not much money. What would be a cheap fix?

I would do what ever the customer wants me to do. If it needs a new CAPE, I would get one for him. Sounds like a "do over" to me. In you're words, this guy is old, and not much money. By the tone of {spellen}, sounds like you are going to cut him some slack and give him a very generous Senior Citizen discount. Hey you're a nice guy!

The reason you are even looking at it is because 4 years ago he wanted a cheap mount. Thas why he got what he paid for but do what he wants might be able to rehydrate but doubtful. see if he wants to go with a new cape charge price of a mount or have him take it to the guy who did the work in the first palce.

He was happy to hear that it would be fixed for a reasonable price. I thank you guy's for the help. He has a hole family of hunters, so the pablicity couldn't hurt either. lol
