What is the best material to use for repro antlers? I have the mold made but am trying to decide what to use.

I like ot use different casting materials based on what the mold is made out of.
Some products really stick to some molding materials even with a release.

My personal favorites are polyester resin, next best, pour-a-cast or some other 2 part urethanes.
I am sure others might have different ideas but this is just what I use and play around with.

The very best

As an old man who has tried them all, I would say that the GT-85R from Industrial Polymers in Houston is superior. It has at lest a one year shelf life at 70F, goes off slowly enough to pour an elk rack in a single shot, and has great after-mold properties, as well as an excellent finish. It is an unfilled co-polymer resin at D Shore 85 and requires no release agent in RTV molds.

I have tried most of the other products and the only thing that is comparable is Cal-Poly's line, but I am too cheap to pay shipping on that. I can get cheaper material, but none better.
