Different skull question

After 6+ years on this forum I think this is my first question. Several years ago I acquired a frozen uncleaned grizzly skull. well, I finally decided to take it out of the freezer and clean it. My choice was maceration. I have done several of my personal skulls this way and they have turned out beautifully. My question is this: The skull is not completely flesh free. almost, but not quite. The weather now, is such that it will be spring before I can resoak. I have removed the teeth. Should I leave in it's empty plastic container over the winter or should I fill with water which will freeze. I dont know if the saturated bone will expand and contract thus cracking. I don't want to place it back in the freezer. It is way too stanky! Thanks for any help!

They'll go back in just fine when you're ready to glue them in.

Thanks George but.....

Maybe my question wasn't clear. I know that the teeth can be replaced with no problem, my question pertains to the skull itself and the best method of "storage".

I left one freeze

I left one out in the bucket all winter with no problems. Just a longer form of maceration. Frozen maceration? I'll bet you find that in the archives! Anyway, leave that stinker out in the bucket and forget about it till June. Unless of course you don't want it, I got lotsa buckets!

The right sized aquarium heater in the bucket will keep it from freezing. Bradlee
