Use a pointed nose pliers

and pull back on the nail just enough to get the skin to come back even. Counter that by running a tool like your lip tucker in the groove down the neck, except over the nail. Should work if your cape isn't too dry yet. You may have to re-wet the hide by laying a wet cloth over the nail areas. Funny you didn't notice this when you first nailed it? In the future you need not drive your nails home like a carpenter.

to slow down drying time

to slow down drying time, place large garbage bags over the head, for the first couple of days.

try this

DONT use nails, DO use good glue, DONT use too big of a form so the skins stretched, DO slow down the drying this time of year, low humidity and/or heated air makes them dry quick. In the meantime, if the guys heres advice doesnt help, just wet the skin and sweat it, and soft card it.

THANKS

When I have to use something I use the largest diameter, bird neck foam one and one quarter inch. split down the middle, curved side against the skin, t pins or some other type of pin.
