I have a beautifully mounted African Blue Wildebeest head that was donated to our auction (For a non-profit Christian organization) that we are having next week (2/4/05). I am trying to find the value of it and also was wondering if there were any enthusiast's that would be interested in buying?

Megan, This seems like a pretty straight forward question but it really is very difficult to answer. Values for mounts vary greatly depending on quality of the mount, age and demand to mention a few. What seems to be a "beautifully mounted" piece may actually be inaccurate and improperly prepared so any price someone gives you sight unsean will be just a guess. Generally a mount is worth the most to the hunter who shot the critter and the hunter of your animal may have paid several hundred dollars or more to get it mounted, but that has little to do with it's worth now. Hopefully you will have several interested bidders for your wildebeast-best of luck, Aaron H.
