Scoring Impala horns

Submitted by Brian on 2/16/05 at 10:01 PM. ( )

Can anyone tell me the correct procedure for scoring impala horns? Searching the web, I can find the minimum scores for SCI and Rowland Ward but not how they're measured.
Thanks, Brian

54" with a rifle and 49" with a bow. Measuring Impala's are pretty easy. Start at the bottom of one horn and measure to the tip. (You measure over the top of the bumps, do not push the tape down into them.) Secondly, measure the circumfrance of each base. Add the four measuements together and that is your total score. Yhe same procedure would apply for Blesbok,Springbok, Hartebeest, Gazelles and other simple or straight horned animals.
