use a meat hook in the back of the skull, hanging from the ceiling of course, and pull as you skin, then you don't have to have an other item to put in the corner.

I always use

a shark hook with the barb filed off hanging from the ceiling by a chain. I skin just about everything from that hook from coyote to deer hooves. It lets the weight of the hide work with you. When I am not using it I just attach the hook into the chain out of the way. Works great!

I've had one of those for 12 years

I even sent off and got a patent for it but couldnt get any of the taxidermy supply company's to pick it up for production.

They work but I dont have to use it on 99% of the boar I cape.
