I have a pair of nice sheds that will need some restoration. They are quite faded and have a light greenish cast to them, it almost looks like algea or some kind of mold. I have tried to remove this green shadow (IE;wirebrush, steelwool, lacquer thinner, even my wife's Soft-Scrub)but it seems to have stained down deep into the bone. The archives suggested painting them white to give them a neutral background. I have never stained over paint. Will potassium permagratate stain over paint(Life-tone or Hydro-Mist)? Or is there another method someone can suggest? Thanks! Dan

Try preasure washing them and then use Old English Scratch Cover for Dark Woods to stain them. Apply one coat and then wipe off with a clean ray. If they don't stain down dark enough, restain them in 2 day.
