Looking for some ideas on makig the hair on a boars back stand up.
I put a couple together this weekend and tried to brush the hair forward, didn't seem to do what I was looking for. If anybody got somthing that worked please let me know.

While brushing or combing your boars hair forward pour coarse sawdust through it down to the skin and leave it while drying. This will hold it up. After it has dried just blow it out with an airhose.
unless it is one of those yellow thick haired boars I find it difficult to keep the hairs standing. I used the sawdust method on a big black russian boar with short hair everywhere but the mane (had 4 " hairs) and it held for about six months. I actually took a second place professional with the head at a state show. It slowly settled back down for some reason and everytime I see the guy I mounted it for he reminds me of the big mane it had when he shot it. I even tried working the hair back up but to no avail. It was pickled and tanned with liqua-tan. The sawdust method is the only one I know of.
Ive done my boar and javilina with sawdust for years with great results.
Breakthrough did an article about this with Joe Coombs a few months ago. In addition to the sawdust, he injected full strength formaldihyde(sic) into the skin. I did this on my last boar and it seems to be working
