restoring old sheep horns off of old mount

Need some advice from someone with some experience. Have a set of old sheep horns off of an old mount. Do i just scrub them down with soap and warm water? Then oil them up? With what? Never did one before so i don't want to screw them up. I Liked George's recipe with 50-50 turpentine and linseed oil on deer antlers but on sheep horns would this be the way to go too? Are you out there George? Anyone? Thanks so much. Skullery....Jeff

It's never let me down on horned or antlered animals YET.

Thanks George

Ok on domestic types but

If these are NOT domestic sheep horns but bighorn, stone, dall or asian ram horns etc. any oil on them will ruin and blacken them. On "wild" sheep you have to clean them and then color with acrylic airbrush paints and then seal with a mat spray or light coating of Kiwi type clear wax.
