hair slipping

I am about to do my second deer shoulder mount. I have just finished fleshing the cape. I am about to put it into Krowtann in order to tan it. Unfortunately, when pulled lightly, a few hairs are starting to come loose. I don't have any stop-rot with me and I have never used it anyway. I know if I was able to mount it the way it was now (which I can't because it isn't tanned and I don't have the form yet) the hair would set fine through drying. I was wondering if when put in Krowtann does the skin tighten around the hair roots? Does it stay the same? Or does it loosen even more? -VERY URGENT

before you put it in to the Krowtann, lightly shake the cape so all of the loose hair where it is cut off at the back comes out. Then watch over the next few days as it sets in the krowtann, if you see lots of hair, I mean lots, you may have a slip spot. And stop pulling on the hair! Just because you can pull hair out doesn't mean you have slip. Slip is when it comes out all by it's self and you see bald spots. Always handel the cape from the inside. ALL HAIR will pull out when wet.

do yourself a favor and get some stop rot in the meantime
the krowtann is wonderfull for setting hair
but ive noticed that by adding a second application of stop rot
befor neutralizing the eye and lip epidermis comes out better
maybe Glen could explain why this is
i dont really care
i just know it works

also rube get some krow oil it will give you a cape with almost no shrinkage and fantastic stretch
just call ozark woods 1800 467 0369 and pick their brains
they are most helpfull
