How to shorten muzzle?

I have to mount a mulie with a really stubby face. I did not find a form that measured exactly what I needed so I ordered one that was close. I need to shorten the muzzle. I assume I just cut the form behind the lip line, remove a chunk and bondo it back together? Then rasp it down to fit?
