It worked ok. (it looked a lot better than when I started) first i tried to dye the skin so you could'nt see it as clear but it looked like crap. then i uset some hair from behind the ears of the Bear and glued them in place (verry short hair) with 2 hr epoxy. and blended the patches with some short hair from the ear on a scrap wt cape (just to blend it in) when the glue was dry I airbrushed some matte black or paynes gray (I cant realy remember the exact color) and groomed the patch as best I could. Like I said when it was finished it looked OK. Hope someone else can give some better advice. joe
I let the mount dry completely and then painted a coat of clear contact cement on it. Because the muzzle of a black often contains gold hair as well, I bought black and gold flocking from Van Dykes. I grabbed a pinch of black in my fingers and used the airbrush to blow it on to the cement. Then I used the gold and finished with a second batch of black. When it was done, there was just enough gold in the black to almost match the slipped area perfectly. Across the room, you'd never be able to tell it.
