Jacobs Sheep skull plate still stinks

Hi all. I rotted the horns off of a jacobs sheep in water, and then boiled the rotten meat off the skull plate after I slipped the horns off. I then washed off the skull, and coated with borax to dry{it dryed for 5 days}. Washed the borax off and soaked it in 35% peroxide for 10 hours today, and the skull and cores still stink like sheep {pretty strong}. I need to get this beast mounted.
What can I do to get the skink out of this skull plate and cores?

Any suggestions?

horn cores

I would guess your problem is still inside the horn cores. You may have to cut off half of the horn cores in order to get to the hollow part inside the cores. The cores are filled with alot of soft matter that resembles a liver paste. Then take a hose and flush them out. Another way but not as good is to drill a half inch hole on the back side of the cores somewhere closer to the base and then flush it out there with a hose. Hope this works, I'v had to do it many of times and it works for me. Skullery....Jeff

Boil Them

Once I get the horn caps off I cut half of the cores off and then boil the skull plate. That will get rid of the smell and any extra meat still on the skull.
