I'm doing a buffalo this week, thinking of mounting the head first and attaching the horns later. What is the easiest way to securly attach the horns? Thanks for the info. Oh Yea, This is a Bison, not a cape or water buff.

Put each case in a pot of boiling water for 5 minutes or so to soften the "apron" around the base of the cases. Then push it down over the cores and maintain pressure until it cools. Then epoxy.
Many of the forms have wood in the stubs that stick out from the form. I put a few dry wall screws into the wood fill the horn with Bondo and hold on the stub till firm.
Wipe out the inside with acetone and bondo them on.
