I have 2 4x5 elk to do. While they are being salted I measured the neck. It's looking like 19" on both. The eyes are 10 1/4. None of the forms I see are that small. Will the neck be bigger after tanning?If not who has smaller forms.

hope ur not measuring them salted, they will definetly grow after the shaving and tanning
Most likely those elk have a 25-26" neck. You have to measure them when they are green, not after you have salted them. I would just wait until you get them back from the tannery, hydrate them, then remeasure...THEN order your form. While you wait for the form to get to you, you can either put the cape in the fridge if it is only going to be a few days, or freeze it.
red stag forms will work but it sounds like your measurments are way off. i had this happen only once and waited untill i could get a stag manikin. spike elk forms are now avail for this but a 4X5 bull isnt 19". -ira
