I'm new and interested in mounting game heads only. I'm a bow hunter and love elk hunting. I have 4 elk to do plus about 6 deer.I bought a fleshing machine and watched the video. I still can't tell how far to take the hide down. If anyone is in Illinois would like to flesh on my machine so I could watch and learn your welcome. m

It takes a lot of time to learn how to use a fleshing machine. I use one to just take off the big chunks of meat and fat before salting and then when the cape/hide has been pickled for about 3 days I take if out to shave it. when I shave I go thin enough till the hide starts to change to a blueish tint. if you go much further than that you will hit hair roots and the hair will pull out. Get your self some scraps and practice! Joe
