What would be a reasonable replacement value price for a very large Black Russian Boar Cape? Our tannery "lost" the cape (they know that they shipped it to the wrong taxidermist who denies receiving it); and so my customer wanted to be reimbursed for his entire hunting trip! I offered a free deer mount, but he insisted on my doubling that offer. I agreed to do so, but I wanted to show him how much the actual replacement value of his cape would be (our legal liability is only for the replacement value and I want to show him how much more than that he is receiving from me). This whole situation has made me sick! Bad feelings all the way around....

I hate when people cant appreciate when your bent backwards. Sorry this guy is so tough. Keep living right though. It will come back!
I think Grin
Thanks for the responses. I'll need a few more examples to show him if anyone else out there can respond. I really appreciate it and yes, Mark, I do try to live right and treat my customers well. It was a real nice boar and I don't blame my customer for being so upset - I've given the tannery well over a year to try and come up with it and my customer really started losing patience. I didn't know what else to do. We've been swamped with work the last couple of years and last fall we took on a 1 year old grandson to raise as well, so our turnaround time is suffering & I don't want to start losing clients. Thanks again - my turn now to go watch the baby!
And they are sold whoelsale and I get $40/each.
He turns around and sells them for $75+
Unfleshed, frozen raw.
