George, a while back you mentioned that you use shellac to prime your forms. Do you also rough them up? I was wondering if shellac would replace Mannikin Prep? Thanks in advance.

......That George was refering to sealing the old laminated paper forms that we used to have to deal with. Sealing a foam form with or without sanding would defeat the purpose.....That is to make the surface rough so that the glue will adhear to it. The laminated paper forms had to be sealed or they would become soft when you put on water based glue or a wet cape.
I'd never shellac a modern form. Sanding or scratching is sufficient when you use a quality glue.
And the only reason I'm here is because Northwest decided that my flight needed to be cancelled due to WEATHER. I called and told the lady that I was positive a blizzard wasn't hitting the midWest and the damned hurricane was in Mexico so what was the deal. It was just my lucky day. Hope tomorrow is better.
I thought you were on your way here, so I answered the question. No, nothing close to a blizzard, although the temp went from 100 yesterday to 75 today. BUT, we've arranged to get it warmed back up for you!
