How do you stop used pins from rusting?

I use different kinds of pins when mounting and re-use many of them. Is there something I should know about storing used pins so they don't rust?

adding oil to the mix.
I reuse pins when possable. I have two bags. New pins and used pins. I spray Pam cooking spray in the bags of the used pins. I then put them in a brass tumbler (the type used for reloading) before I reuse them. I have used WD-40 before whith good results too.
They seem to rust more in humid weather when in storage.
I still get some that rust when in the skin, but it isn't as bad.
I hope this helps ya out some. Joe

I think most pins rust because of the salt and moisture in the cape. I just reuse them until they get too bad and toss them. I only use pins in delicate areas, for all other areas where holes won't show, I use panel nails. They are painted already so they do not rust. You can get them at Home Depot for cheap. That way when I pin gameheads everywhere until it dries, they won't rust and leave rust on the cape.
