I have a muley form the seems to be about 3/4" short in the muzzle. My plan is to cut the muzzle and add 3/4" using a wood spacer, screw it together and bondo to smooth out the contours. Am I on the right track or has anyone done it differently?

would be to hot glue a small 3/4" piece of foam onto the mannikin this reattach the nose, use some wire to hold everything in place and to keep things lined up and pour foam into the expansion area. This way it is one solid piece again..
Can't you find a mannikin that will fit it closer. Oftentimes adding that much to the muzzle will make your mount look like a mule instead of a mule deer. David's advice is right on the mark.
I looked at other forms in many catalogs but the "B" and "C" measurements didn't match the muzzle length I needed. Seems strange to me that the muzzle is this long with regards to other measurements. Proportions don't seem right. But after test fitting the cape this seems like the best solution.

Just curious as to what the measurement are for you cape?
I have mounted quite a few mulies and most seem to fit pretty well without alterations. Seems like most mature mulies have a 7 1/4 or 7 1/2" eye to nose.
I am having to measure off the wet cape so this is what I came up with 7 3/4 x 13? x 18 1/2. Not sure how the cape will stretch during mounting and shrink as it drys.

Sorry for the miss spelling
So did you already test fit the cape to your form?
That does seem long for an 18.5" neck. Seems like that buck should be around 7 1/4".
Eye to nose is only critical when your cape is too short for a form, because it can pull your nose and eyes out of whack while drying. The cape will shrink when it dries.
shorter eye to nose goes together much better. Taxi the skin, as it dries any winkles you had are gone.
Looks purdier!
Often they don't fit WIDTH wise. My tendancy is like Paul Bunyan describes. That E-N measurement is important but the C measurement is critical. I don't think I'd stretch a muzzle that much.
I did test fit the cape that is how I found out it was so long. What I don't know for sure is how much it will shrink as it drys? I could add 1/4 to 3/8" and hope it shrinks down the same amount which would make the cape fit nicely. Also, the length of muzzle would not look so out of proportion.
