I just read the post about the muley with an eight inch E2N. I have a whitetail with 8 1/2X23. Waiting on form to get here. I to have to add 3/4in to the muzzel. Form was 7 3/4 x 23. Meder I think.

Screwing with that muzzle leads to big problems. As we've explained here several times, that hide is quite flexible and WILL fit the form with the correct neck size. Whitetails can take whole apples into their mouths, so why wouldn't you think that the skin might be stretched out some in the measuring. and 7 3/4 inch whitetail is a BIG whitetail and to extend that muzzle by another 3/4 inch is going to give you a deer with a honker your customer is likely to be unhappy with. Good adhesive will make that form work without the extensions.
If you really want to know how short it can shrink to once mounted, measure the eye to nose before rehydrating the cape. (assuming you are using a dry tan). You really can work a lot of the slack out of the face and just adjust it for a couple days after you mount it.
If you add length, then suddenly either the muzzle does not line up, or the jaw does not line up. Most people line up the muzzle and try to blend in the jaw line.
