ear base

What is a good ear base to use. The stuff I got is like wet bread.

though I havent used it in a few years. I would much rather use a good ear liner. I other wise use the cheapest clay I can get my hands on. Joe

I use a powdered clay (just add water). I'm guessing that's what you're using? What I've found is that you have to mix it as dry as you can to get a very firm consistancy. And one drop of water too many will soften it up almost instantly making it like wet bread as you described. Okay, that's over stating it, but you know what I mean.

AVES makes a product called "clayshay" I have some in the shop now that I use on small game skulls and fish... It also makes a great ear base! Joe
