Just wondering if anyone can tell me which jawset they think is the most realistic looking. Not just the tusks but the teeth too.
Ive been using the finished Noonkester ones but i always have to stain the teeth and tusks a little more 'yellowier' and darken the tongues and havn't as yet tried any of the others out there.

I like the Mohr brand

I've tried them all and in my opinion the Mohr brand jawsets look most realistic since the are made of a semi-transparent plastic they have that fleshy depth look to them. The color is imparted in the plastic. The others are painted ceramic or other hard (non-depth) material that is painted on the surface.

Having said that, I still stain the teeth and lightly airbrush the roof of the mouth with black umber and lightly dust the tongue with an off white to give it a more fleshy look since I buy mine "unfinished" to save $$$.

So to answer your question on which looks most realistic... Mohr.
As to your comment about having to stain teeth. That's adding the finer touches and imparting your artistic impression.

Have you tried making your own?

You can mold them in RTV and cast with a pour-a-cast type resin, then finish. You can achieve a very realistic "depth" look with an airbrush, stain teeth with a mixture of yellow ochre and dark brown thin to a wash with water.Paint in on teeth and blot of extra with a paper towel
