My son and I just returned from a successful moose hunt in Northern Maine. Maine moose hunts are awarded buy an annual lottery. Not being able to afford a full head mount, we had the butcher save the antlers for us. The skull was cut just behind and below the ears with antlers and hide still attached. I would like to know of an inexpensive way to properly prepare the antlers for an indoor mount. Any advice would be appreciated.

"How can I best mount and display...the Maine Moose Permit?" Heck, that darn peice of paper is the trophy, thats hard to come by! Congrats! Im sure any local taxidermist can "fix you up" with a decent antler mount for your moose, using the scalp skin if its fresh, or with leather as a covering. Good luck.
