removing caribou velvet

I have just returned from Caribou hunting and am trying to find out an easy way to remove velvet from the antlers. I have one big set of antlers, which the velvet slid off real easy. The smaller set of anlters is stuck on pretty well. Is their an easy way to remove the velvet or just the old fashion way of cutting it off?

And type in "Removing velvet from Caribou". It's in there, but the basic answer is to tie a rope on them and throw them into a pond. That allows the trapped blood to leech out as well as the velvet sloughing off. Takes a couple weeks and then another for the smell to dissipate.

pressure washer

1-2 days under water, and then pressure wash the velvet off, not as smelly this way, I have an old cast Iron bath tub with a big burner under it, and simmer the velvet, and then pressure wash, you can clean them up in a couple hours this way, with no smell at all, if they are fresh.
Have fun, Tim Ü

Thanks Tim

Never thought of that. New fangled machines can do things like that and as I have one setting in my shed, I don't know why I tossed the antlers in the pond. LOL. Thanx.
