I want to try something different this year with a deer head. I want to prepare it so all I have is the skull with the antlers. Can anyone give me ideas on how this is done or tell me where I can find the info?
Thank you

Taco, get some sal salt from Van Dykes. It's very cheap. I simmered my head for a couple of hours in my turkey fryer trying to keep the antlers out of the water. I picked it clean and then powerwashed it to finish it up. I bet the whole process took 8 hours.
It is inportant you get as much stuff (eyes, tongue, flesh, etc) off of the skull prior to simmering. After you think you are done, go back and pick again. If you leave ANYTHING you mount will stink.
Hope that helps!
