sizing replacement cape

This might be a stupid question, but are all whitetail antlers the same distance apart, more or less? I am looking for a cape for a customer who just brought in a set of antlers, and I was just wondering if any size cape would do. I've noticed that no one seems concerned about the spacing between the antlers, so I'm assuming that I can just buy a cape size that would look good with the rack. Any input?

get a cape size based on the overall size of the antlers. If they are from a mature deer I would go with something around 19-21" for a young deer I would go with 17-18" and for a yearling size rack I would go 15-16".

Great Responce Joey

As a deer ages. Their skull grows until it reaches maturity. the size of the skull pretty much dictates antler spacing. Large antlers may be a bit closer than small ones due to their diameter. but usually there is little problem in that area.
