Whiten antelope hair pathes

Submitted by Gerry on 1/23/06 at 2:39 PM. ( )

I just recieved a phone call from a guy that had a Antelope mounted out of state. When he got it back he noticed that alot of the white patches were yelow in color. He is asking me if I might be able to whiten the hair. I have no experience with antelope. Is there a way to whiten the hair? I have a peroxide paste I use to whiten skulls, will that work on hair as well?

There really stain now from what ever process the guy did on his mount. They could very well be blood stains or something else.
Their hair is very hollow and brittle and trying it now may cause more damage to it. I would explain this all to him and if he wants to take a chance of maybe lossing it then try it.
I would try wink or another rust remover first then the bleaching but it could and might break or weaking and fall out.
Take all precaution and protect yourself.
