On deer and well just about anything pins will stay in and not be removed. nickel plated or stainless steel pins. Just want to know if nickel plated will be ok and not stain. I ask because local store has nickle plated for about 1/5 the price i see in catalogs

will stain and even rust off completly. Use good hide paste and no permanent pins and you won't have stains. Just t-pin with plastic canvas mesh until dry. I've torn apart old deer heads with pins and nails rusted off because of reaction to salts and acids in hides. If you do have to leave something permanent use aluminum nails or stainless steel pins.
