split ear

I recently split the ears on my whitetail cape. In the process I ripped through the inner part of the ear. Should I glue it or try sewing it ? The rip is about 2.5 in. long. thank you

It's in there, but I'm sure someone will come on and repeat information that was already available.

SEW IT UP!

I would sew it up. When you put glue or bondo in, it would come out and make a mess. I would sew it up with 4lb. Fireline. Keep your stitches close. And if you use locking stitches, don't pull them tight cause it would pull the line through the skin. I use 4lb line ing the face and 14lb for body holes. The Fireline(fishing line) works good cause it does not get balled up in the hair. Good Luck.

Thanx Jeff

You submitted two posts just to be a smart a**. Would not it have been easier just to answer the question with a single post, or to have kept quite rather than be a jerk?

so what if this in the archives .....there can be a lot different answers that havent been given yet......if the tear is straigt and no skin is missing ....I sew with a tiny needle useing invisible thread(purchsed at walmart crafts area).....if theres a gap i take a thin piece of leather or I,ll skife a piece off the capes neck (if its a tanned cape)and super glue it inside the ear then bondo....GL ...TD
