Have any other New Jersey Taxidermist been contacted this season by a woman wanting to buy mounted ducks and or deer? I have spoken to two other local taxidermist who have also have been called and asked to sell these items and in NJ we ALL know you cannot sell these. We can only offer services in NJ. When I asked her that she can obtain these legally from a person out of state just not through me and she was not interested anymore. Am I the only one who finds this odd? Oh I also did a callback on the number and it was from the NJ Department of Enviromental Protection (DEP) and the Fish and wildlife service is a division of the D.E.P The other taxidermist did the same and guess what? DEP # too. Are they really that stupid to call from there own building?

Call the USFW service and tell them that a woman wished to purchase a duck. Then get a couple Federal agents in to arrest the state person. State Game officials must obey the Federal laws though many think they are exempt.

I've gotten a few

Gotten calls to mount hawks, owls, bears with no tags, if you sell ducks, owls etc. Some seem to be very persistant, just say no, its against N.J. game laws. Its not that their stupid, some taxidermist will sell or mount anything to make a fast buck, reguardless of the law. Not even using a blocked number, I guess some fish are real easy to catch.

It happened today !

I have received a few calls from a woman telling me her husband had a deer to drop off, the name that they used was Bob Clay. So, I looked in the phone book because I thought it was a strange phone call. Well, I found no listing. I told my wife that it was NJFW, I just had a feeling. Sure enough at 10:30 three officers showed up to do a spot check. They were here for over 3 hours going through every wtail that I took in. They were nice and I had no problems, so far! So, what I will tell all of you NJ taxidermists is to have your log book up to date because they will go through it! I would have way more respect for them if they would just call and say" we want to come over and check out your log book." Don't give me no lollygag bullcrap line, just be up front with me. JK
