this is the best way and safeest. Be VERY CAREFUL if you do not do it right you will burn the hair , and it only takes a couple of minutes to screw it up. You can call me at (705)476-0483 and I will walk you through it.

Hold the horses just a bit

Before you ever think of chemicals, did you wash the hide in a blood remover and soap? AFTER that, then you can consider it, but be aware of one thing: that hair is going to be more fragile after you finish. Personally, I think 50% is way too strong. I use 30% and then wash it. IF and ONLY IF that doesn't do it, I use 30% once more and only ONCE MORE. Bleached hair becomes very brittle. AFter you bleach, make sure you put a conditioner in that hair.

Again, use peroxide 3% right from the drug store, ad a little talc to paste it up and apply let dry overnight and brush out. You won't screw it up and it's not going to burn you or the mount,do again till bleached and blood removed . Works great on Antelope will remove blood even from the brown hair and not discolor it. Do your bleaching after mounting.

!, where do you get that from?

Pretty tough to put any credence in advice coming from someone with no name to back up the information. Jason, I wouldn't lead you astray and I have an email address if you have questions. Exclamation point doesn't.

George I agree with the 30%

Yes wash skin first I use 50% with magnezium carbonate very thick and very carefully , and yes the hair will become very drittle, same as polar bear hair will burn.So if one is not completely sure of what they are doing, ask first or you will screw up a trophy.
