deer nose paint

I use modge podge to put the bumps back on the nose. My question is should I paint the nose before sealing it. I like the nose without paint but will it eventually lose its color? Also I spray tan my hides if that makes a difference. Thanks

If you like the look of the nose without paint and olny modge podge, just put the bumps on and coat it with clear gloss. It will look fine and the color shouldn't fade. Joe Meder uses a similar technique. It also makes the hair rosettes on the nose pad easy to clean and see.

Just say NO!

NEVER use jet black on ANYTHING! that will make the most fake looking POS you can imagine. Use 1/2 gloss, some FP29 black umber and then add enough drops of white to give it a charcoal look. paint a rosy color wash into the cracks first.Get some ref. pics!
