I just received an awesome set of freak elk horn I want to mount it with a cape I have in the freezer but one of the peticles is deformed from the skull it makes the space between the antles larger than what a typical elk has is there anything I can do. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Sal, You can super thin the scalp of the elk cape and get a good bit of streatch out of it. If you start with a cape that is a bit larger than what you think the elk was in life you will gain some there as well. If all else fails you can graft some skin to the edge of the scalp taken from the edge of the cape near the leg. That's about all that comes to mind now. Enjoy, Aaron H.
