Just Curious if any you guys have experience in mounting shed elk antlers to a form. I'm kinda trying to feel out if its worth it or not. As when I'm said and done this whole process could run me upwards of 600$ just to display in my shop. However I know I can't get anywhere and hunt them for that.
Also what kind of money is a freindly offer to the DNR for 360" sheds?

Sheds are the way to go. by installing a 1/2" ID square tube into the form. and 1/2" OD square stock into the antler. You will have an elk mount with removable antlers. you will find this very handy in the future.
For a display definitely use a removable antler system like Brian said. Depending on where you get your supplies, $600 might be on the low side. A good cape to fit a 360 bull will be from 250 to 300. If you have to have it tanned it will be another 100. The form, eyes, liners etc. will cost you about 150 and the antlers are at about $13 a lb. . A good set of 360 will hit you for about 500 min. All this puts the total in the $1000 range. I just finished an elk with sheds last night but I used the solid connectors instead of the removable system.
