i finished a few deer and all is well they were wet tanned but the one i rehydrated today was sent to me dry tanned. i have great stretch everything looks good except the ear cartilage is so hard . also how long can it sit in the salt water . and can i bag it and freeze it till i can work on it tomorrow. thanks John H

put in salt water about 15 minutes or so. then put it in a plastic bag and refrigerate overnight, the condensation process will relax the ears (and everything else) so it will be easy to work with the following day.
you could also freeze it if you want to wait longer before you start working on it.
