I euronean mounted a set of horns for a friend.. i just took them out of the peroxide and i have 2 light spots on the base of the antlers.. they were wraped in tape but some must have got thru.. just small spots.. whats the best way to stain a small spot? i searched the archives and it seem that a regular dark wood stain would work well.. is this a good asumption? i want something cheap and easy?

if you want cheap and easy use brown house paint. it will look cheap too! otherwise buy some antler stain and do it right.
To use reg stain , I do it all the time and it turns out just fine
well.. i got some stain but it ended up being to red so i got it off real quick then i tried something.. i mixed red and blakc pain together until i got the right collor.. rubbed it on by hand.. like finger painting.. worked great! cant even tell.. i didn't want to spend the money on antler stain as its a friends,dont want to wait and i'm not charging him so i have to do it cheap..
