Hey Bill, just got the Breakthrough Magazine Spring 2000 with the whitetail paint schedule in it. I was just wondering if you use the same flesh for the ears? Thanks.

Im guilty of changing paint methods constantly! Nowadays I use some different colors, though. The procedure is still basically the same as in that article. I can say that the PolyTranspar flesh tone is STILL a good choice. White base, pink/flesh value, then highlighting with a black value. I dont toot my horn about this much, but WASCO now mixes that black color I described in there, for me as well as anyone who wants it. Its Yox nose pad #34. Its just what Ive been looking for in a nose pad color, no brown, not too dark, not too light, grey but no blue, violet but no red. Its exactly the same color as my live deer. Hope this helps.
