i have a wt deer that had a nasty abscess on it's lower jaw. all but a few hairs are missing.i won't be able to cut this much of an area out without running out of skin for tucking lower lip. i would like any and all ideas on how to cover this up...paint?...cotton? or just leave as is thanks in advance rollie

final flight, Maybe a replacement cape? When the damage is large and up front like you describe I figure trying to repair is not worth the time and replacing the cape makes the most since. If you are determined to repair I would be thinking of sewing in some replacement skin cut from the jaw of another deer. You will still have some repair to do in the way of touchup painting and maybe a little bit of Apoxie clay to blend in the new skin but if cutting out the damage and just sewing up the hole won't work you don't have many choices.
