Im helping on this one,the first one one he just socked it for 3-5 hours
and we fought with it for 16!Will the soaking it for an hour w/relaxo
and swetting it work?the hyde is very thick and he only hand fleshes things so you can think how thick the hyde is!will the swet method work?
I need something constructive so I can print it out to show this stuburn

It needs to be soaked until it's re-hydrated. Put it in a big tank or vat with cold water and a little bacteriacide and leave it in there. It should take 12 to 24 hours to rehydrate and then you can move on with the tanning. The method you were talking about(soaking for an hour and sweating) only applies to capes that are already tanned.
Not just in plain water but add two pounds of water. You can safely soak it in there for 48 hours with out a problem.
I would rather wait and get some ultra-soft from Rittel's and use that. It's safe for all hides and usually within 16 hours a hide is rehydrated.
But don't saok it in plain water and bactericide. It's not the proper way. More info can be found if you type rehydrating in the search button.
I just rehydrated 4 deer capes yesterday, about 12 hrs soak. Worked great, always has.
