I have an antelope cape in pickle and I wanted to attempt to flesh shave it. But it is already very thin. I have my flesher set very thin but it took off more than just paper thin skin it took off all throught the skin and bottom of hair roots. Now I have a bald spot on my rear neck seem hopefully it will be near the back of the panel that gets cut off.Are they naturally thin skinned?

they are thin skinned and have a very shallow hair follicle depth. Making them one of the more "touchy" critters to tan, prep and mount. You won't need much time on the fleshing machine, almost none if the skinning was done in a very clean manner. You will however need to get most all of the cheek glands shaved off. Basically under the black patch at the corner of the jaw bone.
Put that mount together using good reference, they have some distinct characteristics that are different from deer.
