Cotton Ears

George Roof has a way of glueing cotton to bald inner ears on deer then pulling the cotton off for instant hair. My question, is this done before or after the ear is painted. Thank's

Are you using lacquer or water based paint

That's the key. With lacquer based paint, you can paint either way, but with water, the water forms droplets on the cotton fibers. If you brush it, it gums the paint out. If you let it dry, it won't brush out because of that. So with water based, you must do it afterwards.
